Directwave size limit?

Using Directwave latest beta, (and older ones too) in Ableton Live I get "not enough memory available " when I have DW in there and loaded up.

If I load Directwave with about 80 patches, with total of a few hundred 1-2 second samples, Live won't save the file anymore, and says I need more memory.

The samples might come to about a few hundred meg, as I do see total available memory reduced on the machine, but I have about 1gig still free, so it's not that I'm actually out of memory.

In fact I can easily load half the samples in one VST and the other half in another instance, and still have free memory, but can't save if loaded all in the one instance of DW.

It looks as if there's a VST size limit.
Is this the case?
Or a problem in the VST itself??
