I have a project which was causing pops/clicks to happen in audio each time I activated a mixer plugin (with mix level on/off nobs). The plugin had its mix volume set to zero, so theoretically it was not coming from the plugin itself, but from FL's implementation of loading the plugin. I should specify this: It was only clicking on the first time I activated the plugin at mix level with that green led button. After one load, it seemed to be okay... suggesting FL was doing some kind of one-time loading on a per-plugin basis.
This was happening at 192 kHz, with cpu usage up around 80%.
That reminds me of another thing: Although it might have been coincidence, I deactivated a fruity db meter yesterday, and it freed up about 5 or 6 % cpu usage! That was also at 192. Now I tried to repeat that, and it only seemed to drop by 1% on subsequent attempts... now maybe it's nothing, but I'm just thinking about all those embedded db meters all over FL... even if they only were taking 1% of cpu, there are enough of them that it would add up alot. It might be worth examining whether there is some kind of cpu leak in the underlying code.
AND: FL does not seem to be transitioning to multiple cores. When FL CPU usage is near 100%, my cpu is saying it's only using 12% or something, and FL is NOT activating cores when it peaks out in CPU.
