Delay Echo Issue When Sampling VST in Directwave

Im new to FL Studio having just purchased FL 9 XXL. Very happy with the studio..it's amazing really. I got an issue sampling VST's in Directwave:

I set everything up and get the sound to record and zone out ok but on playback I have huge delay echo repeats on any note I play and this happens on all VST samples Im recording into Directwave.
Is there a tweak or something Im overlooking that will let me sample VSTs into Directwave without the delay echo repeats?

Thanks.
