Newtone produces slight artifacts on s and f sounds

I really like using Newtone to pitch-correct my voice a little.
Not sure if it's a bug, but the problem is that I notice that "s" and "f" sounds are noticeably modified by the program and amplified by later compression. The
"sss" becomes a "ssst" sound and the "ffff" becomes "ffft". De-essing the Newtone-processed audio is difficult (I use SPITFISH for that).
It seems like this transformation of the "s" and "f" sounds is an artifact of the FFT windowing that the program probably uses.
Not sure if this can be fixed, but thanks in advance for considering.

Thanks,
-mike
