Need help for DIV html and CSS

Hi,

can you give somme help with div, html and css
I m using zen 14 v6
I want to place a little gif image over the banner
so I append ligne in <div id="topbar">
<div><a href="number" alt=""><img src=../images/tel.gif id="bannertel" alt="tel"></a></div>

and in css
/*template styles*/
#bannertel{width:180px;height:30px;......}

but I have very bad results

I want my image over the banner, Can you give me some help
