Calendar and RSS feed problems

1. My Calendar Page is working great but I need to have a button that shows past calendar events for visitors to see previous entries. I have unchecked "hide expired" but no button appears on the live calendar page and even though it is possible to go back to see previous months events using the chevron (next or previous) this then causes problems for the calendar RSS feed on other pages. See 2. below

2. When I have unchecked "hide expired" box on the calendar page the RSS feed to the calendar internal page I use to show the events on different pages now goes back to the very first events six months ago. I want this Calendar RSS feed to show the events to come not what has gone in the past. How do I do this BUT allow the calendar page itself to have the option to look at past events
