Photos in slideshow1

Hi
Trying to make a slideshow. I use good quality pictures and using pixlr to add text and background. The pictures look good when I preview them as picture on my computer. Once It is previewed in slideshow the quality goes down. I tried to use different format, PNG, Tiff, Jpeg, nothing works.

why does it happen?
what can I do to avoid this trouble?
