I did some experimenting with the bass kick and snare alone. I found out if i use a limiter on the bass kick, the bass kick will "thump" more on beats 2 and 4, where the snare was. I was like "awwwwwesome!" It was a big deal to me to have discovered such things
On the mixer tracks, I increased the volume until it was starting to hit the shaded red area on the top, hoping it would make a track sound full. I guess that helps. But I don't know whether to do that often/rely on it a lot. So I then proceeded to make the bassline, to see how that sat in the mix. I'll just quit rambling
