What's the Deal w/ BETA overlapping Official Release?

Why is the BETA 5 ending on May 5th, but the official release for FL 12 is April 20th?

I've been patiently waiting to get my paws on FL12, especially that mixer, but I can't be using beta's right now so that's why I'm asking. April 20th is 100% confirmed essentially bug-free correct? With a folder saying FL 12 and not 11.5??
