i cant see to get the performance mode to work

IMPORTANT: When reporting a bug/crash, please attach AS MUCH INFORMATION as you can, and if possible, a TEST PROJECT as well as the steps to follow in order to reproduce the problem. A video of the problem happening would also greatly help. Bug reports will be processed much faster if you follow these rules, thank you.

i have a padKontrol ... and i have querty to keyboard on... so i should have 2 options for triggering performance changes. but all its doing is triggering the top channel in the step sequencer its probably something small i am missing... i'm using the demo template i have used the macro to put it into performance mode and kicked on wait for input... which i hit a key it starts but it starts because i have given it input to the step sequencer.

not sure what i'm doing wrong here.
