Daft Punk-ish sound, how to?

So, I've heard this quirky synth sound a couple times and I wanted to know if there's some secret in order to make it. I first heard it in Da Funk, so it's probably easy to make given the old technology of the time.

this is a better example of what I'm looking for. You can tell this track is basically a call-and-response between two synth sounds. The one I'm curious about is the first one.
