In app purchases are no longer good across platforms?

Hi,

I recently opened a ticket to enquire as to why my recent Transistor Bass purchase wasn't showing up in 'My Licences' in my profile.

The answer I got was that, because of a recent iTunes change...

"This means new in-app purchases are not backed up on our servers in your 'my account' > 'my licenses' page.
Only older in-app purchases are available there, and are still open to cross platform activation (on iOS, Android, Windows)."

Is that correct; am I understanding correctly? So, if I were to buy an Apple or Windows device (I'm currently on Android) and buy FL Studio Mobile for it, I could restore my previous in app purchases to that device, but I would be expected to buy the Transistor Bass (and any other in app purchases I might make in the future) again?

If that is correct, that is disgraceful. Don't you think you should have informed your customers about this change?

If I have misunderstood, I apologise unreservedly for bringing this up, but this seems extremely suspicious. Presumably, iTunes have implemented such changes as a way to encourage people to stay using Apple products rather than moving to a different platform, so that such in-app purchases can be restored from the iTunes store itself rather than your users accounts on your servers?

Can you explain why these iTunes changes have been applied to your non iOS customers as well? Apple and iTunes do not have any say over Google Play or the Windows Store's policies so why are we all being punished because of their policy change?

If the change was only applied to iOS users they would, quite rightly, feel unfairly treated but that could/would result in them complaining to Apple about the unfair policy change. By applying this change across the board, you have saved Apple such complaints. Do you serve Apple or your customers?

Once again, I sincerely apologise if I have misunderstood all of this, but I'm very disappointed by this news and that we weren't informed of it.
