It has been a year since it was said that ImageLine is working on a better version of FL3M that would fix the numerous known UX issues and add many new features. During that year we got updates and fixes to some known bugs in this version. However, none of the major improvements did come. We still have
- no other measures like 3/4, 6/8 and so on
- no good sound editor
- no new fx and/or modules
- no fixes to the automation editor, which requires inhuman capabilities to be able to do anything subtle or precise
- no Send fx/module
- no advanced editing of piano roll
- no improvements to the pattern editor
- no improvements to handling selection and copy-paste/move of massive regions in the sequencer
- no section labels in the sequencer
- no other on-screen UI layouts for instruments (like rectangles for drumpads, or pentatonic/chord keys for chromatic instruments)
- no guitar chord aid
- no live-performance features
- no dynamic tempo change
During that time Scott, Maxx Claster and FidelityMusic have been very helpful and hospitable to people on this forum, doing their best to answer the questions, including the new and recurring feature requests. Thank you for keeping your duty!
Now it has come time for me to inquire once more on the new version and on how things are going. So, dear Scott, FidelityMusic and Maxx, how is the work on the new version going? Is it possible to talk about the expected date of release with any degree of certainty? At least in some relative resolution like months or years?
