Hi guys, I'm in a couple of bands and being very tech/rec savvy, I do my recordings of my instruments at home, and dropbox the stubs to the engineers recording each band.
One is a rock band, the engineer uses logic, no tempo changes in the songs.
One is a metal band, the engineer uses pro-tools, many tempo changes in the songs.
For the rock band, i simply ask what the tempos are on the phone then set FL Studio accordingly. I import the scratch mix from the engineer's dropbox, record my tracks over it and send them back individually. He imports them into logic, no problems, very easy. Saves the band a TON of time (and money), and frees up the (very busy) engineer. Win win for everybody.
What do i do about the metal band which uses pro-tools and tempo changes in the songs? I can't even begin to imagine how to accomplish this. Can you help? Is there some type of universal tempo map that can be exported and imported between daws?
I really want to sync the tempo changes because I like to lock in my editing to events and or beats, it really streamlines the process.
matching tempo changes to other daws
