From YouTube to Fruity Video Player?

I am trying to score a video I downloaded from YouTube. I tried to download the YouTube video in formats such as MOV and WMV and all I get in the Fruity Video Player is a black screen with no audio. To experiment, I tried loading a webcam WMV video I shot in like 2010 and it worked.
