mic recording crackling after latest update

I recently updated to 12.4.1 (the latest release) And since then my mic recording has crackling sound intermittently along with underrun counts increasing.
CPU load is very low throughout the recording and I have not change any of my interface drivers (Scarlet 6i6 gen 1) or anything else

I increased buffer size to get rid of underruns - but I am surprised I have to do this whereas it was fine in the previous version.
Even after getting rid of the underruns I am getting some crackling sound in the mic recordings.

Anyone else having this issue?
