3rd party plgins erased and turned into sampler

Just recently I would open a file that I was working on and all the plugins would be missing and they would say sampler on them. I would restart my computer, revert to last backup but it doesn't help. lots of hours of work put in and I don't remember where all the order they all went in. also it erases all the slots in the mixer. started happening ever since I installed the newest version. Has this happened to anyone else and is there anything I can do to fix this so it doesn't destroy anymore of my work?
