Help! When I sidechain the vocals to another channel, the vocals get the same effect!

I'm working on a song and I thought that the vocals couldn't be heard enough in the drop (The vocals only pop in at the end of the drop) so I decided to sidechain the vocals to the lead synth and put a compressor on it but now the vocals has all the effects that the lead synth has in it's channel and it's driving me crazy!

How do I fix this?
