Direct Monitoring still produces lag on the recorded audio file

I'm using a UAD Apollo Twin USB. When I try to record into FL Studio but directly monitor through my console to avoid input lag on a guitar or synth track, the recorded audio still comes out with latency on it and I don't understand why. I have a mixer track routed to another mixer track which is muted and then I record into the playlist while direct monitoring the signal but when it prints into an audio file it's not in sync. How do I fix this?
