FL studio pops and has huge delay after installing new version

FL studio has a huge delay from when I push a button on my keyboard to when the output occurs. FL studio cracks and pops with one instance of any vst plugin. Neither of these things ever occurred in previous versions of FL studio. This began immediately after installing the newest version.
