Manual Control of Automation Clips

Hello!

Is it possible to manually control a parameter (volume, frequency cutoff etc..) & at the same time make the automation clip record these changes?

So next time I play the track, the automation clip will behave like the changes I made manually.

If yes, I appreciate brief explanation on how to do that!
