AUDIO SETTINGS

I have been having a problem with my FL Studio and Underruns making my productions halt fom being finished. I add just a couple plugins or effects on my tracks in the mixer and my underruns start to skyrocket. I have FL running on a laptop with 4GB of ram, an AMD Athlon 64 Duo Core processor and an M-Audio Fast Track Pro interface as the soundcard being the output. I have tried using the ASIO sound driver and primary as well to see if that would help, but no luck. only problem is XP only recognizes 2GB of memory, but the manager sees 4GB on my ACER 5100. Any advice?
