.Long story short, I was looking up mesoamerican mythology and I decided to mash pieces of a bunch of myths together and add a little bit of my own flavour (I've been having nightmares about turning into a jaguar...) What came of it is a darkly mesmerizing mix of IDM and synthpop with a clear story that still leaves a lot of details up to individual interpretation -- like a lot of mythology. I was also looking up jazz compositional techniques, and I experimented with a few of them on the instrumental parts, and also experimented with pad layering. I used at least one FL synth that I haven't used in quite a while, too. Some ring modulation on my voice cuz I didn't really want to sound too human
I prefer to sound like a singing Dalek IDM and synthpop are two genres that I love to mix, because they seem so contradictory but they're really not.[/randomsentence]
