feature RQ:
give modal eye candy window a "click and drag through", so you can work right through it (click "through" the wave candy display window and still click & drag things behind it) when it's still on top... let it also be translucent so you can see beneath it. now you can see the waves while you work! as a variant of this idea, allow various FL windows (such as piano roll or playlist) to embed the wave candy view as their own background.

draw a vertical line on the playlist when you "click down" on automation clip points, so you can line everything up vertically. change the color of the line to indicate what is lining up with what. so if the automation clip point lines up with a note start or end, change the vertical line color for that. if it lines up with a playlist grid line, it also changes for that.

allow automation clip points to "stop" on non-gridmarked horizontal locations if there is a note which starts and stops at those locations, so the user can align points with notes without zooming all the way in to zero resolution on playlist, first (which is VERY distracting form the ordinary workflow).

make automation clips saveable as outside files so they can be imported to subsequent versions of the working file

Allow the FL environment to run as an effect plugin for audio, such that it takes audio in and sends audio out. Sound should be sent to the "in" of mixer channel 1, and by default returned to the client application from the out of the master channel on the mixerboard. Ensure that this is subjected to some kind of copy protection for your company's sake, or people can download your demo and use it full time without ever paying you anything.

Allow automation clips to be "taped back together" with a merge command after they've been cut, so as to exclude undesired regions. (look at how notes can be done). I say this because chopped automation clip parts are very odd to use after you need to change them. Taping something to an endpoint would delete whatever came after that point.

Allow the master channel on mixerboard to sidechain "normal slots" and make them into temporary "master slaves" which can not link to other channels until they are released). I say that because I almost always run out of slots on the master channel.

make a compressor which compresses according to a threshold and ratio which are on a user-defined curve. default should match the dba curve. This will allow drums and guitars through the same compressor in the master channel.

make a final pass script which fl can run to bring final production files (in the rough) to completion... that means perhaps normalizing the file (if the user picks that setting), compressing and limiting it, doing a dynamic sound filter to reduce piercing sounds at particular frequencies without crushing the entire track with overcompression. make sure it does not reduce frequencies which are not exceeding the volume at their part of the dba curve.

make the play/stop button a also controller, so the feedback from the flanger/phaser can be automated to stop on that queue, or at least so the master out can be auto-disabled between plays

make the phase of flanger/phaser/chorus reset and start from scratch when you hit play, so you get exactly the same volume levels at each second of the song, each time you hit play. this is critical when you are trying to do anything dependent on a consistent volume level (including volume adjustments with automation clips): sometimes a flanger/phaser wave can line up and "double stack"...when that happens it can cause a VERY PAINFUL noise spike at that frequency for a split second. this is a health risk (harmful to the ears), and impossible to automate out when the convergent alignments are more or less random.

make the sakura resonator sliders actually tell a number in hz, rather than %. I say that because it's almost impossible to get this thing sounding harmonious. That means it almost always sounds "a little out of tune" in a way which is not pleasing.

please provide a brick wall option on fruity multiband compressor or EQ.

please allow to paste values into the smoothing nob on the remote control settings window

make volume displays double as peak controllers

make a single note in piano roll be quickly auto-convertable into its chords (double click - window - click which chord ...or something like that)

let dots on automation clips move up and down with mouse scroll wheel (this avoids accidentally sliding the clip)

let automation clips be "locked" while editing one thing so you don't change the other (so maybe "ctrl updrag" locks right left/motion, for example, and/or shift-rightdrag locks up/down motion of the dot being dragged)

multiple undo buffer

leave a ghost dot where you started dragging from when editing automation clips. only remove the ghost dot when teh user lifts the mouse button.

allow users to hotkey groups of notes in piano roll, so the user can select them, and then freely "let them go" for in-between tasks, and then "pick them back up again" afterwards without zooming out to reselect them. if possible, hotkey with ctrl-number (ctrl+ 0-9) and reselect with the number (0-9). double pressing the number should change the piano roll view to be centered on the location of the hotkeyed notes being reselected with a hotkey.

add a light to compressors so you can see them being activated from the mixer level.

add a light to components so you can see them clipping from mixer the level.

for each channel effect plugin in each channel, show volume volume out (behind the text which tells the fx plugin's name)

include an absolute built-in top level limiter for user safety, to prevent excessive noise from getting to the speakers. only let users turn this off with a stern warning that it can cause hearing damage when volume spikes exceed safe thresholds. the studio is awesome, but you can be certain it's making less experienced users deaf when they don't know what they are doing yet. even very small speakers can cause hearing pain, adjustment and impairment. This is even more critical because inexperienced users could mass distribute audio files which harm hearing of millions of people (with inauspicious sound spikes at particular hz) on the internet)... you might consider selling or boxing a good-but-low-end in-line hardware compressor for this, just to make extra sure.

it is almost impossible to move a playlist clip up or down without sliding it right or left, which frankly you almost never want if you are simply moving it up or down. please do something to help control the motion. it wastes alot of time having to worry about this.

make the name of wide automation clips and playlist clips slide with the horizontal playlist view so it still shows as you slide the view rightward

make automation clip points copy pasteable (so you can insert them in between other points with a paste)
