Pre-Compose

I have no idea if this has been requested yet, but it would be great if you could precompose a pattern or song as a scratch file to free up some resources to do other things.

Adobe After Effects does this for video; you can take any composition and 'precompose' it; it will render the comp into a compressed video file so it can be used without eating up resources rendering everything in real-time. Then, you can switch off the pre-comped version when you're ready to export a final product.

The same would be great for playlist tracks, patterns, and/or full mixes - bounce everything into a temporary, single file, so resources are freed up for other instruments or live recordings.

This affect can be achieved by routing everything you want pre-composed into a send, and recording everything in Edison, but that's a bit iffy. It would be better to use whatever rendering engine is used to export mixdowns to pre-comp single tracks, insert feeds, playlist tracks, or full or partial mix-down (for example, all guitars precomposed.)

FL Studio, and other daws, suffer in performance when VSTs eat up resources. Again, a workaround could be to feed your VST signal into an audio track, but that's tedious, and you can't really go back and edit with any degree of efficiency.
