Patcher-Control Surface ideas

Two ideas which came to mind which would enhance the patcher/control surface experience for me...

- Addition of "switches" instead of just pads.

Obviously a pad can be used to switch between 0 and 1. This effectively makes it a single throw switch, which can switch multiple things in different directions using formula controller. It can also be modified in range with X-Y controller or formula controller.

I am suggestions the possibility to use control creator to make switches with multiple "poles" and/or "throws." If you are an electronics guy, you will know what I mean here. They are also represented in many synthesizers, both software and hardware. Think slider, toggle, rotary, or many other kinds of "real world" switches. They have several positions, and have "poles" which are akin to an input. If the control surface could handle inputs, then these switches could be used for changing complex routing using the control surface.

- A grid which can be made visible, and has a "snap to" option.

I find sizing and placement of controls in the control surface to be a bit intensive. Most graphic programs have this option, and it just seems logical, especially for GUI design.

Possibly there is some option that I have missed?
