place automation track right over audio or midi track pattern it is controlling
I think having the automation placed right over the track it is affecting would be quite simpler approach. No need for a automation clip to be listed as its own entity in the instrument rack or on the playlist. In fact everytime I see the automation clip in the instrument channel rack I just want to delete it. Im like what is he doing there? Should I assign it to a mixer track? I feel the The best way would be to right click a track or piano roll and add automation, select the midi cc or what it is, then draw the points. Then it would be displayed with that piano roll or track as long as desired. Contained. I think the piano roll already has this function but making it appear like the more popular automation lines would be a good improvement.
