Like Ableton Live there are actually two meters: the dark green show the actual peak ( peak meter ) and a light green to show RMS value.
Although it is always best to mix using your ears but having a visual representation of what we are actually perceiving ( the RMS value ) will be way more beneficial.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think the fruity wave candy plugin can display RMS value and it's only possible with only third-party plugins.
