Apply effects to a sample

How often do you run into this problem:
You want to apply an EQ, or reverb, to a single sample. So you have to place it on it's own track.
Maybe you want slightly different effects across a hundred samples. Now you gotta have a hundred separate tracks.
The logistical nightmare is quickly compounded, because playlist tracks aren't automatically linked to FX channels.

It'd help me out a lot of if we could apply FX directly onto the sample. Similar to how you can in Reaper
