Re: midi: soft takeover

well you cant get two values on 1 param at one time... the master volume can not be both -2 and +10...

you could potentially code the same thing but with a summation of the active knobs but thats kind of dumb

you can however have 2 knobs effect 2 different parameters in different ways.

the benefit of soft take over... is that if you have 4 scenes... then the same knob would have 4cc numbers.... but if you want that knob to always control volume regardless of what scene you are on, it gets complicated and would cause volume jumps ... which isnt desirable...

thats what soft take over is designed to fix.

in scene 1... knob 1 would be cc1 in scene 2 knob 1 would be cc10 and in scene 3.... maybe in scene 3 you want knob 2 to control volume... so it wouldnt always be set to the same position as volume was before.... and if you just had them all linked the volume would JUMP dramatically ... if you have soft take over... then the volume wouldnt change until you reached the value that volume was at.... so when its captured....it starts changing.... no dramatic jumps in volume....
