My site needs your help

OK, I need some input. My host is using a Windows server and they include a FREE Linux account---I have my website on the Windows server because that is the domain host---teachu.com --- and the Blog on the Linux side. (apps.teachu.com) I've linked them back and forth to make it seamless.

I really don't like the layout of the Blog---too narrow. Would I be crazy to use a different template for my Blog or do you think that would blur the identity?

I'd really like some opinions on this. www.teachu.com
