crackling and pops in my wav files after export

Hello, just wondered if anyone could help me out with a problem I'm having exporting my track.

Basically, I have finished a track and I am at the stage of exporting it as a wav file but every wav file I've exported is corrupt. sounds of cracking and popping throughout the track. I think it may be the CPU load as it is really high but I've never come across this problem before. I've got the CPU level as low as I can get it as now it is at around 35 CPU load and still getting this crackling. Also tried exporting the track as stems and still get the same result. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!
