sounds not playing from VSTs

recently a few of my plugins have started to malfunction, in that they only let me use specific sounds in them even though before they would work fine? a few work but when i try to open others they wont load nor work, this is happening on my Sakura & GMS and i have checked in the plugin files and all sounds are there, but they just refuse to work? Any ideas of how to resolve this problem?
