While recording audio in playlist, triangle jumps back

Hi,

IÂ’m in the process of recording internal audio from the playlist. I have done so successfully many times before. But this time when I hit the record button, the little orange triangle at the top of the playlist jumps back two beats to the start of the bar (not where I want to start recording). Any idea how to keep this from happening?

Here are the steps IÂ’m taking:
1. I have four rows of wav files in the bottom half of the playlist window starting on the SECOND beat of bar 17.
2. I highlight the playlist columns, starting at the second beat, all the way to one beat past bar 18
3. I click the “arm disk recording” icon and name the new wav file
4. I click the record button
5. I press play and the orange triangle automatically jumps back to the START of bar 17 (I want it to start on the second beat of bar 17).

I could manually edit the wave file and delete the first two bars of silence, but I wanted to check to see if there was a way to avoid doing that in the future.

Thanks for any help,

Rx
