The Downloader is terrible

Why does the FPC Content Library not actually remember where it's samples are? And, hows come when I designate what drive/folder to store things in, and for the Content Library to look at when retreiving patches and samples, it can't actually do it?

I'm not sure of the point of being able to assign a custom directory if Content Library isnt' able to go to the directory and locte what it needs.

This has been going on for months.
