Controller functions not "strong" enough

Hey all,

I am trying to use a CDJ-101 controller with deckadance, but the controller only seems to be able to slow or speed the track up mildly.
Using the mouse (via deck vinyl control) I can get the program to actually rewind the track, but the controller just doesn't have the ability.
Also, the controller does nothing when the track isn't playing, while the mouse can still manipulate the track.

Any help?
