I would say 99% of more of all music listened to in modern times is played back on some form of media.

Completely agree. You cannot "listen" DJs music, meaning live play is for promoting yourself, entertaining and making people enjoy at respective locations like - club, orchestra, etc. Also most of that work is remix, so considering that I think CDs or downloadable stuff with original music will remain for long.
This is just my point with respect to "regularly listenable" music. I am not underestimating live performances.
