That's one way I rather not do since I prefer to have a tidy looking performance mode. You have already added progress meters per clip. It shouldn't be any hard task for you to zoom the clips so they fit the markers.Let's set you in action for a moment. You're at a gig in any big town. You have 3.000 listening to your performance. You're trying to see the screen to start the next clips. But with markers at 16 bars each you're having a hard time to hit the 1 bar clips. At a gig you don't have time to make a mess, but that's what you do when you cannot seam to hit the correct clips right. Bigger clips = bigger chance to hit the right clip in an intense performance session.nucleon wrote:If a clip overlaps into another region, it dosnt matter. Only the region it starts in coresponds to a pad on a controller.jobro wrote:Create a few patterns 1 bar long, now create one pattern 8 bars long. Add them into the song and set it up for performance mode. Add the blocks to part 1 - 3. Now select the content in part 3. As you can see you're not only selecting part 3, but also the 8 bar pattern from part 1 and part 2 too.
Or you can resize the marker regions so theres no overlap. So you could leave an 8 bar region in your example.
Highlight time and use Ctrl+Insert to move everything after the region you want to extend.
You gotta stop thinking as a programmer, and start thinking like a performing artist. There's no worse thing that ruins a session as fast, and as bad, as a missplayed tune. That is a true party pooper. Because if people can't see / activate the right parts then this risks them to choose other tools, like Live or Traktor, to do their gigs with.
Don't get me wrong this performance mode is a really great idea. It just needs some polishing to make it even tighter.
