Idea of quickly recalling and closing user definable mixer channel FX layout with CTRL+'Double-click on the mixer channel' shortcut.
User definable would be: user enters in to Layout FX mode by CTRL+'Double-click on the mixer channel' then opens whichever FX he likes from available mixer slots and arranges them how he sees fit on the screen. After user CTRL+Double-click on the same channel again those opened FX would close. After entering the mode again with CTRL+'Double-click on the mixer channel' the previous layout would be displayed.
User can if he chooses CTRL+Double-click on different channels opening there specific layouts and closing the previous one.
User can put in the FX Layout whichever FX he needs for editing and at the same time not open stuff that are there and wont be edited with high frequency.
You could add SHIFT+CTRL+Double-click for some sort of auto-arrange function for displaying all FX for the channel.
This mode would be completely independent and wouldn't change anything in usual workflow.
It would be good to have some visual indicator that FX layout mode is active for example different color of selected channel.
This is not "more FX slots" or anything like that, just multiple FX interfaces from the available FX slots displayed and closed with respect to there screen position with a keyboard+mouse shortcut (all at once).
CTRL+Double-click is just a suggestion, it might as well be just Double-click.
Idea spurred from this post, it seems popular to have FX displayed in alternative ways.
