Hello all,
I'm a big user of FL Limiter for sidechain duties (who isn't) and have been using FL since 1999.
But I've hit a quick roadblock which I'm sure is so obvious but I can't find the answer.
I've got Focusrite Reveal Vsti, which is a dynamic EQ powered by AI. Seems pretty cool.
It needs me to route the foreground signal to its "sidechain input" - but I can't for the life of me figure out how.
Example:
1. Bass (is the background sound to "duck") - on Mixer track 5
2. Drop the Focusrite Reveal plugin into Mixer track 5
3. Vocal is the foreground sound to act as the sidechain signal to the plugin - its currently on Mixer track 6.
4. If I simply route track 6 to 5 its just mixes together and the plugin thinks it all the same signal
5. If I "sidechain" mixer track 6 to 5, then the plugin doesn't "see" track 6's signal at all so nothing happens.
You know how in FL limiter you click the "SIDECHAIN" box and select #1 (or whatever) to allow the signal to be "seen" by the plugin, well what I'm trying to do is just that but with a 3rd party plugin.
Tearing my hair out because it should be obvious.
Thanks in advance
