Easy way to consolidate entire loop 'Selection'?

Sometimes when highlighting a loop selection I end up accidentally finding a certain 0-2 second piece of a mix that sounds awesome repeating in a loop, and I'd love to be able to just click "Consolidate entire selection into a wave" so that I could creatively use that part in the song.

I *never* use the consolidation feature normally, as I have enough CPU power to keep adding everything I want, and I like retaining full control, so forgive my lack of knowledge in this area.

(I know that the result I want can be acheived by just exporting the song as you would normally export a full project, but this is quite a few steps, and I was hoping there'd be a quicker way)
