I'm sick of broke ass producers around the world downloading FL on crack along with famous plugins — making beats, content, tutorials, earning and selling them like Oh my! As much I love the enthusiast, hobbyist and the fanbase of FL gang worldwide, it would be lovely to give them a spot/category on owning FL than pirating it.
So the question for me is: Why not have a FL STUDIO Monthly Subscription? (Here me out)
What? How? When? Why?
- This is a way to convert and lessen the crack users and give them the cheapest way to own FL and while enjoying themselves as hobbyist, enthusiast, "professionals", and home studio/ bedroom producers.
- This would make extra cashflow every month and give the company sales. It's still a business! Users will pay lifetime monthly not unless they decided to commit and having FL forever with one time payment; Users can cancel anytime anyway; still Lifetime free updates even monthly.
- Why not remove the FL Studio Fruity Edition and changing it to a monthly subscription instead. Basically, FL Producer Edition but monthly! The idea is if they can crack it then why not give them option to own it monthly the cheapest and convenient way possible and more importantly have them on your email subscriptions! (for all the marketing editions)
- This means a little bit of work and having various payment methods to cater teens, adults, employed or unemployed around the world. (Kids and teens buy things from online games on regular basis and I believe it's possible with FL)
- Suggested subscription name for this is "FL Studio Bedroom Edition/Subscription"/ "FL Studio Lite/Home/Standard/Basic Edition" or maybe revamp the options to:
FL Studio Fruity Edition → FL Studio (Monthly Subscription)
FL Studio Producer Edition → FL Studio (One-Time Payment/ Perpetual/ Own forever)
FL Studio Signature Bundle → FL Studio Advanced (One-Time Payment/ Perpetual/ Own forever)
FL Studio All Plugins Edition → FL Studio Complete/Professional/Business (One-Time Payment/ Perpetual/ Own forever)
* Something like that. Let's be honest: terms like "Artist","Producer","Engineer" are in the same ballpark these days and wouldn't even matter for non-professional perspective. If they're already using the DAW, 100% fact they fancy themselves as those.
- This monthly subscription option could be the current FL Studio Producer Edition or half the features of that while giving users the option to have monthly subscription for Signature Bundle features or any additional upgrades/plugins. The pricing could be something like $5-9.99/month for the subscription and option of $5-9.99/ month for additional features like plugins — which would cater Producer Edition/Signature Bundle owners. Pricing should be affordable for young generations from kids-teens and affordable for the working and non-working adults — as hobbyist, non-pro or professionals. * Bro, I started using FL when I was 16 and I wish I could afford it back then. I only got the chance to buy it and all my other plugins when I got my first job 2018! Everything changed after that. Owning it means being more committed, get better and loving the software even more — this goes with other plugins I own throughout the years! Starting from the bottom and it just feels great thinking about it and I hope new and old users would experience and realize that
And if only I could afford it back then, maybe things would be better earlier! - This makes the FL Studio Producer Edition still perpetual and more for committed users. The goal is to eventually convert crack users → to have option to own FL in the cheapest way possible as monthly subscribers → to fully buy the Producer Edition after using it for months.
- This means to fully remove FL Studio trial version. Why? Let's be realistic, new users would rather crack FL than use the trial version. In line with this, there are millions of contents and resources available online to SEE how FL Studio works. They want to try it? Try it for a month!
FL Studio is still the famous DAW out there globally!- FL studio users loyalty is insane especially for non-professional work. This subscription option would also give other DAW users option to try FL and see how it's perfect for creative music production — while realizing how much contents are available online on how versatile FL is! I've tried other DAWs, FL is not yet perfect but I'm sure it would get there eventually.
I could 100% say FL Studio is a music production BEAST especially if you don't use real instruments - Would love to see the marketing of FL Studio in the future to be more upfront and consumer ready in terms of leading and promoting content and how amazing this software is for young and adults for non-professional and professional use! I mean, there are easier DAWs out there made for babies and old people — FL is hard compared to those, but once you know it, your creativity just amplifies with it! And as much as there are hate towards FL from people who thought they have a better DAW or even professionals who thinks it's garbage. Unfortunately for them, FL is still more complex software and it's capabilities are greater than other DAWs (Ableton could come close but with FL Studio's Patcher alone, no DAW could come near). Time could only tell

BTW Little background about me: I've been using FL for a decade now. It's not my first DAW, it's my main DAW but I'm currently using other DAWS (Logic Pro X, Pro Tools) for professional standard work — but FL is still the BEST for me along with the wonderful memories I have with this software while growing up. So, I'm literally speaking for my teenage self who used to be an aspiring music producer/audio engineer and actually succeeded on having an opportunity to be one and have professional experience in my country. Also a Marketing professional both Traditional/Digital and professional Audio Engineering experience. I just Love FL STUDIO, man
