Quick Effects Question

Hello,

I'm looking for an effect to put on a synth that has a rhythm during a measure, so I think that rules out the LFO.

I want the effect to mutate the voice over time. They key thing is it's over time.

I find the effect to be most like a phaser. It increases/decreases in depth, but the rate is too quick.

I'll give you my application:

I have a simple rhythm of quarter notes and sixteenth notes over and over. Its sort of a twangy bass noise. I would like this to mutate over a period of about 8-16 measures, in which it turns from a bass noise to a more synth pop noise and maybe to a organ-like noise.

I heard the mutations in a song, so I know it's possible somehow and I was just looking for some insight. I figured out A LOT today, and my songs are going extremely well. I just lack some of the "cool" things that get the adrenaline pumping for a few seconds, and right now it's effects.

Thanks Everyone!
