Which Sound Card & Midi Controller

Hi there.

Just downloaded FL 7 demo and spending hours reading through these forums whilst having a play.

Can anyone recommend a cheap-ish decent sound card and also a cheap-ish midi controller.

I currently have just a SoundMax 'onboard' sound card but it's not really living up to the task.
