I don't really understand the point of dashboards, especially for basic MIDI controllers (I saw a request for an axiom dashboard). Emulating a hardware synth is cool, but if you have a MIDI controller in front of you, why would you want another one on the screen? Maybe for people that don't have a physical controller? The only way I see a point to this is something with motorized faders, so you could manipulate the physical controller on the screen, but even that doesn't seem entirely useful. Is it only for looks, or is there some other reason that I'm not thinking of? Thanks in advance.
