Dance Sustuined One Note?

Here's a question I've always wanted to ask, "Is it my ears or the sustained one note string sound in dance music is a common practice?" And is it really ONE NOTE, cause as long as I've been doing music this is what I've been doing. <<<<Please take a listen to this track I'm busy doing for what I'm talking about.>>>
