Panning in Sequencer and Piano Roll

Is it just me or does the panning seem wider when doing it from the sequencer than from within the Piano Roll? Take a listen at the attached MP3. In the first half of the main melody (yes, it's Manic Miner ;)) the separation is clear, but when the tune goes higher in the second half the panning separation isn't as wide. The first part was done in the sequencer whereas the next part (higher) was done in the piano roll. I've moved the panning to the extremes in the Piano Roll
