FL Studio as a loop station

What is the best way to set up FL Studio as a loop station, to emulate a BOSS RC-300 for example?

I would like to record a part, let it loop, then record another part. In FL Studio, blend recording and loop recording will do that.
But I would also like to control other things, like when to stop and start recording, stop and start playback, etc

Just like this guy, but with FL Studio and a MIDI controller:

I have tried the 3rd party vst GLoop, but I can't get it working properly in FL Studio.
Any native way of using FL Studio as a loop station?
