I got myself the Novation Launchpad and Launch Control XL. I've been playing around setting up some performance projects for live composing and mixing. But I noticed it all changed compared to composing music without having to think about the pads and knobs...
So I want to know how to best take advantage of my controllers. I have tried using Launchpad for firing up patterns and the Launch Control XL for tweaking and playing around with effects, but it's not very productive, haha. I've been thinking about breaking the process in two sets; first use launchpad to build the base of my tracks, then use the control XL to record automation and effects.
It's a whole new world for me so I want to know what you guys think and how you use your controllers.
