Loop Note Recording - How to Prevent midi 'feedback' echo?

Hola,

I'm trying out some MIDI loop recording for the first time, using my Deepmind 12 on USB MIDI.

The setup works just fine for the most part, but because I'm going both in and out on the DM12, when I'm playing the notes and recording, I get a 'feedback' problem where the midi notes play twice during recording, presumably because the DM12 is acting as both controller and instrument, so notes are playing with the keypress locally on the DM12, then again when the MIDI message hits the MIDI OUT FL instrument and being sent out again.

This very problem is visible in Image-line's own video here with double drum hits playing during the recording but not the playback when the loop comes around:

How can we stop this behaviour? With some instruments it's not such a big deal but when I'm using a unison patch for instance, it can get very messy due to voice stealing etc.

Thanks!
